Having progressed through the various material revolutions — from steel, to aluminum, to titanium, and now to carbon—CYFAC® has acquired vast experience across traditional and innovative material technologies.  While we began in the artisan era, we have stayed at the leading edge of the cycling world, enlisting new materials and technologies when they offer a true benefit to the rider.  CAD, Finite Element Analysis, and digital prototyping each play their role in the development of new products, as does the unparalleled experience of our master builders and rider testing in real world conditions.

 

Philosophy and Design:
Our focus on a dependable, adaptable, and performing frame dictates the approach we take to finding the best solutions for our line. Our design and product team has nearly 100 years of combined riding, development, and competitive experience, bringing a wealth of knowledge across frame design, material development, frame construction, equipment, riding conditions, and more.  

The R&D and design process begins with the advent of a new material, a technology or a building process that has the potential to offer true advantages for rider fit, comfort, and performance.  Our team considers innovative solutions integrating the sport’s latest equipment and technologies along with new materials and production techniques pulled from other leading fields.   

The designer’s hand provides both an aesthetic as well as practical touch, offering an approach that eschews marketing hype in favor of a beautiful yet ultimately functional and dependable new product.  The use of our highly-skilled finishing techniques leads to a paint application that is durable, unique, and in keeping with the rider’s desires.  At each step, we focus on the complete rider experience, ensuring that only the best solutions come to our workshop floor and on to our passionate clientele.  

Materials and Production:
Pulling from our full range of capabilities, we can select the best material for you.  We use them all – carbon, titanium, aluminum, and steel. The choice of materials is a function of our design principles, the desire to have the best quality, and because we must adapt the product to the needs and wishes of the individual rider.  We employ the unique qualities of each material and our custom build capabilities to create a frameset that is dialed in to what you need.  As such, the same model carbon frame can be built for a heavyweight sprinter or a superfly Alpine climbing ace depending on how we select the tube sections and apply the carbon and Kevlar mix. Your frame for any type of riding -- road, triathlon, time trial, cross, touring, MTB, tandem, and track – is within reach.
